BOOLIGAL, NSW, AUSTRALIA - OCTOBER 20: The grounds around a sheep shearing shed turned to a desert like scene, after years of drought October 20, 2008 in Booligal, New South Wales, Australia. The farmers of this land have had to move their stock around in search of feed because their own land is not able to produce feed for grazing. These pastures are extremely dry, unproductive and windstorms have blown their topsoil, including seeds away. They have been empty of stock for 18 months. The Murray-Darling Basin of Australia has been plagued with severe drought since the late 1990's and many growers and policy makers are being forced to work on implementing more efficient irrigation systems.
