PATANGATA, TONGA- MAY 9, 2007: The Fisi family collects fresh fish and other sea creatures held in shore at low tide by a net May 9, 2007 in Patangata, Tonga. The family sets the net about five times a week. Most of the fish is for subsistence living and the rest is sold, the money is used for school fees and other food staples. They make about $200 TOP ($100 US) a week from the income. Tonga is one of the last surviving monarchies in the Pacific islands, however there has been a recent push towards democratic reform, challenging the people of Tonga to maintain their cultural heritage while conforming to modern day capitalism.
